Rather than fight the crowds at the trendy San Francisco restaurants, I often get take out and hustle up the stairway sidewalks to Coit Tower. There are always people but same as on the rivers a short walk from parking finds more solitude than you would expect, a place to sit and eat and sketch. This was after a fine sunset repast of Caffe Sport pasta pesto, fresh bread and red wine.
