A Painter's Journal

Last Updated: March 2001

For the last few years I had become familiar enough with the roads of the western USA that I didn't need maps. I offer those travels for your enjoyment below. Now that I am settling into life in Juneau, I am content to take my adventures close to home. It take only half a day to drive the whole road system, yet the opportunities seem endless.

August 2000: A hike up Mt.Roberts, and other views around Juneau.

July 2000: Painting and Fishing near Juneau

June: Moving to Alaska, Fishing with Dean

Winter visit to Juneau

1999: Less frequent travels but further than before.

January 9th -16th: Mike and Shiz's Wedding in Japan

July 19th-26th: Surprise trip to the Netherlands

July 10-12: the Coast: Pt. Reyes and Half Moon Bay.

August 8-16: South Fork San Joaquin and John Muir Wilderness

1997: Travels around California, the Rockies and Northwest. In which I gain the value of recreation, the inspiration of free travel, the lure of the open road, the gifts of clear flowing rivers, the uncertainty of homelessness, and the portable hearth of camp stove cappuccino. I was meant to be a nomad and the internet makes it possible. Call me a Newmad.
